Michael Gordon Smith, 70, took the journey from this earth on the 6th day of April, 2025 of natural causes. He was born in Chicago, IL on July 17, 1954 to Malphias Smith and Verila Silas.
Mike attended Flandreu and received his GED later in life. In his prime, he was an avid boxer for the Soaring Eagles Club of Oneida. "Pompero" was his nickname.
Mike worked as a construction worker for the earlier part of his life. He then preceded to work for the Oneida Casino, first as a bingo caller, then table games. He loved to gamble, play cribbage, and 10,000. He also loved the outdoors.
Mike is survived by his children Michael Shannon Powless (Veronica), Tera Jean Smith (Chris), Johnathan Smith (Amber) and Jacklyn Smith; his siblings: Elizabeth Dennison, Cecil Smith, Rose (Harvey) Thompson, Valerie La Plante, Dawit Smith, Selma Smith, Malphais (Ginny) Smith, and Verda (Kim) House. He will be deeply missed and loved by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gerald Smith and daughter, Megan Smith; his siblings: Gerald Silas Smith, Joan Lee Smith, Melvin Smith, Terry Smith, Judy Smith, Earl Smith and Sharlene Kasee.
Family and Friends may visit Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere, on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. A funeral service will begin at 4:00 PM with Sonny Hill speaking.
The family encourages those who attend the funeral to please wear Packer apparel in memory of Mike.
