Michael William "Mike" Ruf, 58, Crivitz, formerly of De Pere, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on Saturday, December 19, 2020. The son of Roger and Karen (Vannes) Ruf was born on May 30, 1962.
Mike was the oldest of four children, and graduated from De Pere High School in 1980, were he was an all-around athlete, competing in football, basketball, and track. Mike also attended UW-Lacrosse where he played soccer.
On August 7, 1987 he married Tammie Collette and started their family. The two had three children, Ryan, Brandon, and Sean. He spent 25+ years working as a journeyman electrician.
Mike was an avid outdoorsman and deer hunting was his passion. He lived to be out in the woods, which he more often referred to as his "church." He will be remembered as a fun loving, big-hearted man.
He is survived by his sons, Ryan (Ana), Brandon and Sean; grandchildren, Brayden, Mason, Gavin and Clara; father, Roger; siblings, Steve, Sherri (Rick) Geurts; Lynn Geurts; foster sister, Vikki (Charles) Nason. Mike is further survived by his ex-wife, Tammie; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Karen and other extended family members.
Family and friends can visit at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2020. An additional Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in Mike's name.
