Mostafa David Assef, 85, Green Bay, passed away on November 25, 2013. He was born on September 12, 1928 to the late Sadegh and Razieh Assef in Ardebil, Iran. Mostafa married Farideh (Mahdjubian) in Tehran, Iran on March 17, 1954. He graduated from the military academy in Tehran as valedictorian of his class in 1952. He attended Command and Staff College of the United States in Leavenworth, KS as an allied officer and graduated with distinction in 1964. He served in the Iranian military for 30 years, achieving the rank of Brigadier General. Highlights of his career included Military Attach to Kabul, Afghanistan and he was a member of the Iranian delegation to CENTO. In 1981 he immigrated to the United States and became a U.S. citizen in 1988. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Farideh; sons, Saied (Miriam) Assef and Ali Assef; grandchildren, Jenny Assef (Peter Hlinka), Ben (Anna) Assef, Katie Assef (Christian Estevez), Maija , Maren and Kai Assef and great-granddaughter Nora Assef.
