Obituary

Norbert R. Drewiske, 93, De Pere, went home to be with his wife, Margie, on May 17th, 2024, at Rennes Health and Rehab Center. He was born on May 24th, 1930, to the late Frank and Mary (Ebben) Drewiske in the Town of Lawrence. Norbert married Marjorie Klipstine on October 1st, 1955, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in De Pere, WI. They celebrated 56 years of marriage together before she preceded him in death on February 15th, 2012.

Norb grew up in Laona, WI where at a very early age learned how to hunt and how to fish on the Mill Pond. After high school he enlisted in the Army and was assigned to the Signal Corp and stationed in Okinawa, Japan during the Korean Conflict. He was very proud of his service and he went on the Old Glory Honor Flight in 2014. After his service he was employed at Charmin Paper Mill (later known as Proctor and Gamble) for 35 years and recently celebrated 35 years of retirement. After retirement Norb and Margie traveled to many different areas of the United States and Canada. They would also schedule any appointments around breakfast or lunch because they enjoyed eating out. Norb enjoyed having his children and grandchildren live close by and on many occasions could be found pulling the grandkids in a trailer around the yard behind the lawn tractor. Recently he enjoyed special family times where he could watch his great-grandchildren play in the yard.

Norbert is survived by his children, Steve (Linda) and Mary Jo (Michael) Vander Bloomen, daughter-in-law, Lynn Liddle-Drewiske, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, David (Wendy) Vander Bloomen, Gavin and Lily; Bryan (Mackenzie) Vander Bloomen, Mya and Rylee; Steven Vander Bloomen, Hudson, Lennox and Cecelia; Kimberly (Nate) Brunette; Caryn Drewiske; Kelsey Vander Bloomen, Harper; Jennifer (Shawn) Sonnenberg, Clifford; Michelle (Mike) VandenBush, Oliver and Luis. He is further survived by his siblings, Donald (Jean) and Donna (Steve) Litwack, brother-in-law, David Voeltz, sister-in-law, Joan Klipstine, and many nieces and nephews.

Norbert was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, his son, Donald, his parents, Frank and Mary, siblings, Bernard (Mildred), Evelyn (Paul) Jansen, David, Harold (Rose), Anna Mae Voeltz, along with Margie's parents, Robert and Edna Klipstine, and brother-in-law, Richard Klipstine.

Friends and family may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1305 Lourdes Ave., De Pere, WI on Friday May 24th from 9:00 – 11:00 am. The mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with Norbert's nephew, Rev. Josh Litwack (Tulsa, OK), presiding, Rev. James Baraniak concelebrating, and his son-in-law, Deacon Michael Vander Bloomen, assisting and giving the homily.

The family would like to thank the staff of Rennes Health and Rehab Center in De Pere for their compassionate and loving care of Norb. He truly felt they were part of his family and felt so loved and cared for. We especially want to thank Anna, Becky, Lori, and Jenna, who Norb was especially fond of.

Norb always said what a wonderful life he had and how lucky he was. He will be dearly missed.
