Norbert J. Wielgus went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, December 14, 2020. He was born to Antone and Julia {Skarzynski} Wielgus on August 4, 1939. He graduated Pulaski High School in 1957 then joined the Air Force serving his country from October 1957 to April 1963. He worked at Procter & Gamble in Green Bay for 32 years, retiring in 1995. On September 26, 1987, he married the love of his life, Gail {Van Dyke-Rowell}. After retiring, they spent many years living up north in Marinette County, with 14 of those years in the Twin Bridges area then moving to Coleman where they became villagers until this July when they moved to Green Bay. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather leaving behind a great legacy of love and faith in His Lord and Savior.
Norb was mechanically gifted and could often be found tinkering with tools in his workshop; there was nothing he couldn't fix. He was a lover of the northwoods and nature and was certain to plant a tree every year. A proud family man who cherished the moments spent with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Gail of 33 years; four children Todd & Connie, Tim & Lavada, Troy & Tammy, Tanya & Kevin Meyer; three stepchildren Johnny & Memoree Rowell, Jeff Rowell & friend Judy, and Julie Staeven & friend Roger. Further survived by 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; his sister Delores Sapletal of Iron River; brother Alvin Wielgus of Pulaski; sister-in-law Linda Wielgus. Brothers- & sisters-in-law Roy & Joy Van Dyke, Claude & Sue Schaefer, Roger & Lois Kitzman, Keith & Evie Burger, Arnold & Jane Van Dyke, Sam & Carol Van Dyke, Todd & Lucy Hesselberg, John & Jenny Liesgang, and Leo Van Dyke.
He was preceded in death by his parents Antone & Julia, a daughter Tina, brothers Richard and James, brothers-in-law James Sapletal, Mark Van Dyke and sister-in-law Mary Anderson, as well as in-laws Clarence & Clara {Martzahl} Van Dyke.
A private family service will be held at Highland Crest Baptist Church.
