Obituary

Norma Adele Gilson died Wednesday, December 4, 2013. She was born July 17, 1912 in Asketon, WI, to the late Herman and Caroline (Reinke) Winkler. Norma married Donald M. Gilson on September 1, 1934 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Wrightstown, WI. Don preceded her in death on November 2, 1981. She is survived by her daughter Carol Koomen of Greenleaf, her son Roger (Mary) of Green Bay; grandchildren, Gary (Joy) Koomen, Marian Cleven, Kimberly (David) Beining all of Greenleaf, Tamera Macco, of Antigo, Holli (Richard) Denton of Crandon, Greylyn Gilson of Oconto, and Graham (Robyn) Gilson of St. Augustine, FL. Great grandchildren, Christine (friend Tom) Koomen, De Pere, Shannon Koomen and John (Michelle) Koomen, Amanda (Charles) Novitski all of Greenleaf, Sarah (Casey) Janke, Howard, Nathan, and Jacob Beining of Greenleaf, Amanda (friend Dan) Johnson, Oconto, Adam Fifield, Oconto Falls, Josh (Amanda) Collette, Crandon, Stephanie (friend Damon) Green Bay, Melissa Denton, Crandon, Christopher and Andy Nothbusch, Illinois, Jackson and Ashley Yeager, Union City, TN, Boden Gilson, Oconto Falls, Brayden and Austin Gilson, St. Augustine, FL. Great great grandchildren, Dariann, Angelina, Emma, and Jaxson Novitski, Desiree, Ashlyn, and Kayleigh Koomen, Kaitlyn Johnson, Ryan and Emily Kevilus, Allyson Fendyk, Noah Fifield, and Graycin Janke. Also surviving is her sister Irma Van Dyke of Appleton. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Marian Austin, her brother Clarence (Eleanor) Winkler and special friend and sister-in-law, Virginia Radloff, as well as her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lyda and H.M. Gilson, brothers-in-law, Percy (Irene) Gilson, and Douglas (Marion) Gilson. Friends and family are asked to gather at Hope Lutheran Church, 700 South Superior Street, De Pere on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 10:00am until 11:00am when a funeral mass will be held with Rev. Wes "Bo" Baumesiter officiating. Entombment at Nicolet Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Norma's name.
