IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia Ann
Janssen
October 28, 1930 – May 25, 2025
Patricia A. "Pat" Janssen, age 94, De Pere, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025. She was born on October 28, 1930, to John and Margaret (Doherty) Echtner in Green Bay, WI. Pat attended Cathedral Grade School and graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1948.
Pat married Richard (Duke) Janssen on February 3, 1951, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay. They made their home in De Pere, raising five children there. Duke preceded her in death in 2003.
Pat worked in the business office at St. Norbert College for twenty-five years retiring in 1994 in order to spend more time with grandchildren and at their cottage on Underwood Lake. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, and traveling, making five trips to Europe touring various countries. She had also stayed in touch with friends from high school by going to lunch and "catching up" for the afternoon on the third Tuesday of each month until disbanding in 2016. Pat also belonged to the Knitters and Nots group comprised of friends at the apartment complex where she lived and thoroughly enjoyed knitting warm hats for children in need. With waning eyesight in her later years, she enjoyed listening to books on tape and discovering new authors as she had been an avid reader her entire life.
She is survived by five children: Michael (Mary) Janssen, Wrightstown; David (Mary) Janssen, Suamico; Lynn (Jamison) Bartlett, Fulton, NY; Gary Janssen, De Pere; Lori (Ronald) Jaeger, De Pere; nine grandchildren: Sara Gallegos, Thomas (Stephanie) Janssen, David (Kaila) Janssen, John (Cheryl) Janssen, Jessica Janssen, Nicholas (Lydia) Janssen, Lindsay Janssen, Kaylee (Nicholas) Prebelski, and Jacob (Jordan) Jaeger; one grandson-in-law Dave Pryes; and eighteen great-grandchildren (number nineteen due in December). She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Joan Echtner, Milwaukee, and her three children as her only nieces and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Duke, his parents, her parents, a daughter-in-law Mary Joan Janssen, grandson Eric Richard Janssen, granddaughter Lisa Marie Pryes, and brother Thomas Echtner.
