Obituary

Mrs. Hubert (Patricia) Vandeveld, 92, of DePere, passed away Monday evening December 3, 2012 at home, surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of the late Michael and Nellie (De Lorme) Coughlin was born March 10, 1920 in Duck Creek. Pat lived in Duck Creek prior to the family moving to the Chicago and Barrington, IL areas. Following their return to Green Bay, she was a 1939 graduate of West High School. As a graduation gift, she and her mother attended the World's Fair in New York. On July 27, 1957, she married Hubert Vandeveld at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2005. She enjoyed her career in the fashion industry, having worked for H.C. Prange Company. Pat worked for Prange's from 1940 to 1959, as Head Buyer for juniors, sportswear and teens. She hosted Prange's fashion promotions, including early television and public appearances. Pat and Hubert were active members of all the communities in which they lived, including Green Bay and Whitefish Bay. She was a member and Past-President of Whitefish Bay Woman's Club. Pat was Past Trustee, Treasurer, and Past President of the Ladies Sodality of Holy Family Catholic Church, Whitefish Bay. She served as a volunteer for numerous groups, including Meals on Wheels and United Way. Her hobbies include oil painting and gardening. She was a warm, caring, socially graceful woman who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Todd Danen, two grandchildren, Patrick and Sean, her sister-in-law, Joan (Vandeveld) and Willard Ihde, one special relative, Jeannine Boehm, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her sisters, Marie and Catherine Coughlin, sister-in-law, Mary Vandeveld (Norbert) Van Beckum, brothers-in-law, Joseph (Maxine) Vandeveld , Robert (Claudia) Vandeveld and Ralph Vandeveld. Family and friends may call at St. Norbert College Parish at Old St. Joseph Church. De Pere, WI from 9:00 to 10:00 am on Friday December 7, 2012. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday at the Church with Fathers John Tourangeau and Roland DePeaux, O. Praem., officiating.
