Patrick W.
O'Connor
June 13, 1944 — September 23, 2026
De Pere
Patrick William O’Connor, 82, passed away peacefully at Meng Residence in De Pere, Wisconsin, on September 23, 2026. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on June 13, 1944, to William O’Connor and Carol (Bernauer) O’Connor.
Pat grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from Marquette University High School. After taking several years to explore his choices, Pat attended and graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Pharmacy. Pat’s first marriage brought him some of his greatest joys—his children—before he shared nearly 30 beautiful years of marriage with Debbie. Pat was a fantastic father, a role he looked to his faith for guidance in.
After graduating, Pat worked as a pharmacist until retiring in 2010 from St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He truly had a passion for learning all he could about pharmaceuticals so he could help as many people as possible. His genuine care and compassion for everyone he met left a lasting impact on the many lives he touched, whether through his work, family, or friendships.
Pat truly enjoyed nothing more than sharing a beer with a loved one while watching a Packer or Brewer game. Sharing the small moments, like shooting pool with his grandkids or listening to records and reminiscing about stories from his life, were treasures we will all continue to cherish as we miss him.
After retiring, Pat and Debbie were able to travel. His favorite adventure was visiting Ireland and learning more about his Irish heritage. Everything in his life was based on his love for God and his family. Not a moment of his life was wasted on regrets or hate. His heart was large enough to love everyone, and his patience was never-ending. He had the ability to forgive and forget in a way that made everyone comfortable in his presence.
He was the man who bought a candy bar from every student who came to the house, dropped money into every donation box, and gave selflessly to every charity he knew. His generosity and kindness were simply part of who he was.
Pat’s only regret in life would be not having more time to spend with his family, especially his grandkids, more money to give to those in need, and another beer to share over a game.
Pat is survived by his wife, Debbie O’Connor; his children, Colleen (Benjamin) Froelich, Shawnette O’Connor, James (Tina) O’Connor, David O’Connor, Erich (Jamie Straley) O’Connor, Charles O’Connor, Patricia (Donald) O’Connor-Smith, Heather (Greg) Block, and Holly Summers, along with Carrie (O’Connor) Seis. He leaves behind a large and loving family, including numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sisters, Margaret (Michael) Plotkin and Kathleen (Scott) Morse; his brother, Timothy O’Connor; and many nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by his father, William O’Connor; his mother, Carol O’Connor; and his sons, Vincent O’Connor and Brian Geise.
