Paul Thomas “Beta” Koehler, 90, of De Pere, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, with his wife, Ann, by his side.
Paul was born on October 15, 1935, to Leonard and Teresa Koehler. He grew up on a dairy farm in Hilbert, Wisconsin, and was the second youngest of eight children. He graduated from St. Norbert College in 1959 and married Ann Kreuser in 1960. Paul and Ann have been blessed with five children, seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
For many years, Paul owned Valley Liquor in De Pere and was locally known as a wine expert and mentor to generations of young people. He was a charter member of the De Pere Optimist Club. A proud consummate Green Knight of St. Norbert College, having achieved Golden Knight at his 50th class reunion.
Paul enjoyed cooking, especially French cuisine, and was known for his coq au vin. He also enjoyed gardening and traveling with Ann.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; his children, Jim (Michele) Koehler, Tom Koehler, John (Jackie) Koehler, Lora (Bear) Koehler, and Paul (Megan) Koehler; his grandchildren, Alex (Autumn), Teresa (Brandon), Jenna (Jonah), Zachary (Emmalee), Jacob (Meggan), Sony (Rowan), and Marilyn; and four great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, June 11, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 1305 Lourdes Ave., De Pere on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 9:00- 10:45a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. James Baraniak O.Praem. officiating. A luncheon and burial to follow. Ryan Funeral Home , De Pere is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
