Peter H. Bethke, 81, Greenleaf, died peacefully with his loving family by his side on Saturday morning, May 30, 2009. He was born April 14, 1928 to the late Peter P. and Elsie (Hauser) Bethke. On February 4, 1950 he married Claire Myers in Rome New York. Peter was a veteran of the United States Air Force, he farmed and was a member of the NFO. He loved the up-north, fishing, and hunting with his dear friend Dr. George Hering, and his sons. More than anything else, his deep faith of God and his love of the Bible was his life. He was also an active member and past Deacon in the World Wide Church of God. He is survived by his wife Claire, his children; Tim (Sherry) Bethke, Linda Bethke, Lynn Knapp and her fiance (Allen Walker), Tom Bethke, Karen (Dan) Van De Ven, Mike Bethke, Nancy (Rick) Lemmens, Mark (Elizabeth) Bethke, Peter (Carla) Bethke, Phillip (Nanette) Bethke, Amy (Ritch) Coates, Rebecca (Dallas) Amy, Mary (Dave) Yudes, George, Polly (Doug) Bablitch, Laura (Rob) Johnson, Matt (Bobbi) Bethke, Joe Bethke, and friend. Peter is further survived by 42 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, his sister Loretta Fritsch, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Katie, his son; George, his granddaughter Braiden, a grandson Nicholas, and his two brothers; Delbert, and Bernard. The family would like to express a special thanks to Hartland Hospice Care, and Brown County Health Center, for their kindness, concern, and excellent care.
