Peter V. De Vos, 90, De Pere, passed away at home on Saturday, July 28, 2018. He was born January 13, 1928 in Green Bay, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Pinchard) De Vos. On June 17, 1950 he married the former Evelyn Minten at St. Boniface Church; she preceded him in death on October 21, 2016.
Peter served his country in the US Navy and he was a mill worker for Proctor & Gamble. He enjoyed going camping, traveling to Florida for winters, golfing, playing cards, and going to Happy Hour. Peter really loved being a craftsman in his garage and in winter in his basement toolshop.
Peter is survived by his daughter Lois Backmann; grandson Matthew (Brandi) Backmann; great grandchildren: Dominik and Natalie; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Evelyn; son-in-law Ronald Backmann; siblings: Evelyn (Al) Marsland, Grace (Dan) Klimek, Willard (Marguerite) De Vos, Rita (Marvin) Cobisier, and Mary Magdalene; and Evelyn's brothers: Clarence (Dorothy) Minten and Earl (Myrtle) Minten.
Family and friends may visit from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, August 3, 2018 at St. Francis Xavier Church, 220 S. Michigan St, De Pere. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. Entombment will be at Nicolet Memorial Gardens. Please visit www.ryanfh.com to send condolences to the family.
