Peter Jon Johnson, 77, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 27, 2023. The son of Bruce D. and Elsie M. (Berken) Johnson was born on December 29, 1945.
Pete was a lifelong resident of De Pere, graduating in 1964 from De Pere High School. He attended Milwaukee School of Engineering until he enlisted for 4 years in the U.S. Army Security Agency.
On December 23, 1967, he married his forever love, Linda Beaupre at St. Boniface Church in De Pere. Together, he and Linda raised 3 children. Pete enjoyed planning many driving trips with the family, sharing his love of Hawaii with his children and their spouses and many family trips to Florida. His greatest joy was a separate and unique trip with Linda and each one of their 7 grandchildren. Pete was the ultimate family man who could never be replaced.
Pete enjoyed many things throughout his life including scuba diving in Door County, photography, remodeling his home, bowling, traveling, golfing, yardwork, daily walks and attending his children/grandchildren's functions all while continuing to maintain his never-ending to-do list.
Pete spent his career as a technician at WI Bell & AT&T for 15 years and then at WPS as a Telecommunications and Operations Supervisor. He is survived by Linda, his wife of over 55 years; children, Joel (Amanda) Johnson, Jodie Blumreich and Molly (Justin) McGee; grandchildren; Adalynn, Alaina and Sophia Johnson, Emma and Clara Blumreich, Mason and Kaila McGee; brother Bruce Johnson and siblings-in-law; Donna (Ken) Bougie and Tom (Jeanne) Beaupre; many nieces and nephews, cousins, and his golf buddies.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Elsie Johnson; sister, Ann Marie Johnson; son-in-law, Eric Blumreich; mother and father in-law; Earl and Caroline Beaupre.
Family and friends may visit at St Matthew's Catholic Church, 130 St Matthews St, Green Bay, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating and will be live streamed. Full Military Honors will follow the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to St. Matthews Parish.
