Phyllis Helen "Mimi" (Reed) Fitzsimmons, 80, left this life to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 7, 2012, at a Green Bay hospital after a several-year journey with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Ashland, Maine, on April 2, 1932 to the late Charles and Eva (Belyea) Reed. Phyllis was a long-time, faithful member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Presque Isle, Maine, but moved to live with her daughter and family in 2006, where she attended Lighthouse Apostolic Truth Church of De Pere, Wisconsin. Phyllis was retired from McCain Foods. Mimi was beloved by family and friends and was well-known for her cooking, sewing, and crafts. She often prepared and delivered Sunday meals to home-bound parishioners.
Mimi is survived by daughter Amanda (Fitzsimmons) Roberts and her husband, Mark; grandson Evan Roberts; granddaughter Erin Roberts; all of Green Bay, Wisconsin; granddaughter Rachel Carmichael of Washburn, Maine; two sisters, a brother, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Harold Fitzsimmons Jr. and by her former husband, Harold Fitzsimmons Sr., as well as two brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Hickory Room of the De Pere Community Center, 600 Grant Street, De Pere, Wisconsin, with Rev. Peter L. Fraser officiating.
