Phyllis M. Gerrits, 76, Ashwaubenon, passed away early Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at a local hospital from complications of heart disease. Phyllis was born September 9, 1938 to the late Howard and Joan (Peters) Smith. She had managed the Deli at Sure Way on Military Ave. for many years. Phyllis was an avid football fan, especially the Green Bay Packers. Phyllis was an active member of the West Side Moravian Church. She had spent her final day doing the two things she enjoyed the most, Christmas shopping, and watching the Packers.
She is survived by her children; Roberta (Sal) Serbin, Laurie (James) Kropp, Kevin (Cindi) Gerrits, Keith (Debbie) Gerrits, Christine (Bryan) Van Lanen, and Peter (Paula) Gerrits. She is further survived by her grandchildren, and great grandchildren, her siblings; Nora (Eugene) Corey, Gordon (Marilyn) Smith, Clyde (Barbara) Smith, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by her brothers, Howard (Lois) Smith, and Roy Smith.
Friends may call at the West Side Moravian Church, 1707 S. Oneida Street in Green Bay after 10am on Friday December 12, 2014.
