Phyllis Nocenti, 97, died on July 5, 2026, from natural causes.

Phyllis was born in 1929 to Peter A. and Ophelia (Gajewski) Servais. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy and was a lifelong resident of Allouez and Green Bay. In 1949 she married Joseph Mario Nocenti, whom she met while taking bridge lessons at the Green Bay YMCA. They were married for 54 years.

Phyllis and Joe were charter members of Resurrection Catholic Parish. Before her health declined, Phyllis enjoyed playing golf and tennis, and was a charter member of the Ladybug Garden Club.

Phyllis upheld her family’s tradition of longevity by living to the age of 97 (her father lived to 90, her mother to 97). People who knew Phyllis called her spunky, sassy, spicy, witty, lovely and charming. These traits made her a lot of fun to be around, especially when sharing stories of her exploits growing up as a teenager in the 1940’s. She loved to reflect upon and talk about the places she and her husband traveled to throughout the world. While on these trips Phyllis purchased many mementoes, most of which became her husband’s responsibility to carry on his lap during lengthy flights home. 

With more than nine decades of life experience, she was an interesting person to talk to and was often the life of the party. Family gatherings and ‘cocktail time’ will never be as much fun without her. She will be remembered by those who knew and loved her for facing several serious health setbacks with determination and resilience.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her older sister Dolores Servais Pytlak; and her husband Joseph Nocenti. Left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law Richard Nocenti (Cynthia Nocenti); daughter and son-in-law Claudia Nocenti (Donn Shoultz); grandchildren Maria Nocenti (Jeremie Carlson); Alex Nocenti (Leanne Gervais); Megan Gardner (Jonathan Gardner); and Michael Abell (Hayley Abell), along with her six great-grandchildren.

Per Phyllis’ wishes, there will be no funeral service. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Renaissance Assisted Living, Rennes Health & Rehab Center, and Unity Hospice.
