Obituary

Phyllis Ann Olson, 98, Kewaunee, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 31, 2018. She was born April 1, 1920 in Wisconsin to the late Edward and Anna (Brunner) Guckenberg. She married the late Earl Olson January 28, 1939. They spent 63 loving years together before Earl's death on February 11, 2001. In Phyllis' free time she cross-stitched works of art for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time in her garden tending to her vegetables. During retirement, Earl and Phyllis enjoyed their motorhome and traveling the country, which Phyllis continued to do with her children. She was very active and always looked forward to her annual birthday celebration which included a Mexican dinner and a sombrero. There is so much that this woman has taught us, how to live sustainably through gardening, canning, cooking, how to be strong through tough times, and how to give to others. She gave us a strong work ethic and most importantly the love of Jesus Christ. She had the ability to make anybody that walked into her home feel important and loved. There are not enough words to describe the love she gave to us all or the magnificence of this woman. She will forever live in our hearts. Phyllis' family includes daughter Judy Vincent with her children: David, Paul (Amanda), and Marnie, Daughter Martha(deceased) & Richard Debban with their children: Monica (Neil) Clower, Andrea (Jim) Pounds, Katie (Jack) Maynard, and Anna (George) Virgo. Daughter Paula & Cletus (deceased) DeJardin with their children: Kelly (Charles) Kornowski, Brian (Becky), Jason (Libby), and Jonathon (Carla). Daughter Alice & Mike O'Leary with their children: Shawn, Molly (Mike) Fischer, and Ryan (Rachel). She was blessed with 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She is further survived by brother Robert Guckenberg, sister Alice Gille, favorite godson Bill Gille, along with many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit on Monday November 05, 2018 from 9:30-11:00am at St. Therese Parish-St. Joseph St. John Site, Pilsen.
