IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rachel Jo
Soderdahl
October 22, 1975 – December 16, 2025
Rachel (Rottier) Soderdahl, 50, of De Pere, peacefully entered eternal life and is singing with the Christmas angel choir after a seven-year long battle with cancer on Tuesday morning, December 16, 2025. The daughter of Robert "Bob" Rottier and the late Jean M. Rottier was born on October 22, 1975, in Green Bay. She married William "Wil" Soderdahl on July 21, 2012, sharing in her parents' wedding anniversary day.
Rachel was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, friend, cousin, and teacher to many and will be dearly missed. Rachel was known by many in a variety of ways. She was a beloved teacher for 27 years at St. Bernard Catholic School, Green Bay and St. Mary Catholic School, Greenleaf, as well as an active singer in the Prince of Peace Worship Band (formerly at St. Bernard Parish). She loved being creative, finding new ideas for the classroom, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and searching for unknown treasures as a master finder of deals when shopping. She had a special knack to bring joy, fun, and laughter everywhere she went, including to her medical treatments.
She is survived by her husband (Wil), their children Ari and Aiden, her father Bob Rottier and mother-in-law Eunice Soderdahl, siblings Dustin Rottier (Tracie Van Gheem-Rottier), Stephanie Rottier, and Mitchell (Kari) Rottier, her in-laws Tim (Mei) Soderdahl and Mike (Wei'Ling) Soderdahl, her nieces and nephews Giselle, Garrett, Gretchen, Lincoln, Lawson, Leighton, Emma, and Ian, special aunt - Janette (Larry) Schott, and special friend Jenny Arnold. Rachel was preceded in death by her mother Jean M. Rottier and father-in-law William "Bill" Soderdahl as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM Sunday, December 21, 2025. Visitation will continue Monday morning at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church 2270 S. Oneida Street, Green Bay (Ashwaubenon) from 9:00 AM – 10:45 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM with Fr. Matt Simonar officiating. In lieu of flowers and plants, a memorial will be established for the boys.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Unity Hospice, Green Bay Oncology, and the many aunts, cousins, and dear friends who helped to care for Rachel. Her wish was to be able to remain home surrounded by her family which was made possible by the loving care of so many.
