Obituary

Ralph Louis Enderby, age 88, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015 peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born May 5, 1927 in De Pere Wisconsin as the eldest of six children of Marie (Goldschmidt) & Wilbert Enderby. He attended grade and high school in West De Pere. Upon graduation from high school he joined the Navy serving abroad on the USS Orvetta until Aug 9, 1946. Was called back to active duty Sept. 8 1950 and served abroad the USS Tacoma on submarine patrol during the Korean War until Aug 11, 1951. On June 19, 1948 Ralph married LaVerne (Sauerhammer) in Grace Lutheran Church, Green Bay. They enjoyed 61 years together and raised a family of five. Ralph worked 41 years as a machine tender for Nicolet Paper Co. and he was very active in the Union. He worked 5 years at St Norbert College in ground maintenance. . He was an active member of St John Lutheran Church. He participated in the Church Council, Men In Mission, assisted in grounds maintenance and volunteered in other aspects of the church. He was a very dedicated family man. Ralph was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed cross country skiing, hunting and fishing. He spent many memorable days fishing lakes and streams in upper Wisconsin and Lake Mary where he owned a cabin. For 61 years he looked forward to the yearly deer hunting camp with family. As a do-it-yourself man he saw to the building and maintenance of his home and automobiles. Also found time during his 88 years to remodel several cottages, build a boat and do some carpenter work. Ralph is survived by son Steven (Darlene) Enderby; daughters Sandra (Gordy) Fenlon, daughter-in-law Ellen (Bruce) Enderby, Gail (Keith) Sengbusch, Kay (Scott) Harrison; grandchildren Nicole (Adam) Wayman, Kyle Fenlon, Melissa (Mike) Gerrits, Bliss Sengbusch, Casey(Sean) Levrich; Tyler, Taylor, Kaitlyn Harrison. Great Grandchildren Aubrey & Hadley Wayman, Levi Levrich. Siblings: Marshall (Barbara) Enderby, Asahel (Carol) Enderby, Glenn Enderby Ralph was preceded in death by his wife LaVerne; his son Bruce Enderby; his son-in-law Gordy Fenlon; his parents, sisterin-law Teruko, brother-in-law Jiggs Cady and his two sisters Mary Cady and Luella VanEnkevort. Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere from 4:00 8:00PM on Wednesday December 9, 2015. Visitation will continue after 9:00AM Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church 1700 Lost Dauphin Rd. De Pere until time of Service at 11:00AM with Pastor Gary Nokleberg officiating.
