IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Randy J.
Gerbers
May 4, 1956 – November 4, 2024
Randy Gerbers, 68, West De Pere, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee from Leukemia related complications.
Randy was born on May 4, 1956, to the late Edward and Pearl (Frisque) Gerbers.
After graduating from West De Pere High School, he began a career as a pressman, first at Berger Printing, De Pere, and then at Independent Printing, where he retired in 2022 due to his diagnosis after 43 years of service.
Randy was an avid Packers fan and never missed watching a game. He loved hunting, fishing and bowling. He was very proud to have bowled a 300 perfect game. He looked forward to his yearly trip to Jefferson's Landing in Conover, which he had done since 1988, that started a tradition that will be continued by his daughter and granddaughter. The highlight of those trips was teaching his daughter how to fish and then his granddaughter. Spending time with his granddaughter Brynlee brought him so much joy. It was also a yearly tradition to cut down the Christmas trees at Whispering Pines which became even more special when Brynlee was born.
He is survived by his daughter Becca Gerbers (Isaac Wallace), granddaughter and light of his life Brynlee, siblings Linda Cloud, Gary (Cindy) Gerbers, Rick (Joan) Gerbers, Cathy (Dennis) Doherty, Theresa (Gary) Lawrence, Mary (Gary) Zimmerman, sister-in-law Sherry Gerbers, brother-in-law Pete Hermsen, nieces, nephews, former spouse Mary Kay (Ralph Perry), and former sister-in-law Anne (Tim) Monday.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Steve and Dan, and sister Vicky Hermsen.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, West De Pere. Visitation starting at 9am at the church, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11am with the Rev. James Baraniak, O. Praem. officiating. A luncheon at the church will follow. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
We wish to thank the Bellin Cancer Clinic, the Froedtert Grace Clinic Oncology Team, the bone marrow transplant team, and the kind and caring nursing staffs. We also wish to thank Kathy's House for their incredible kindness.
Special thanks to Ralph for the many trips down to Froedtert and back so he could receive treatment. Also, to Anne for driving him to and from his blood work and transfusion appointments when he was not able to drive himself. Your thoughtfulness and generosity will never be forgotten and my dad so appreciated it. And lastly to my mom for coordinating his care so I could focus on Brynlee.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to one of Randy's favorite charities, St. Jude Children's Hospital, www.stjude.org, or Kathy's House, 9100 W Wisconsin Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53226, www.kathys-house.org.
