Raymond "Ray" J. Janssen, 83, Town of Rockland, died unexpectedly on Saturday March 7, 2014 at home. The son of Michael and Ethel (Smet) Janssen was born on May 26, 1931 in De Pere. He married the former Joan Nelson on September 1, 1951 at St. Francis Cathedral in Green Bay. She preceded her in death on July 17, 2006.
Ray worked for the city of De Pere for over 22 years. Joan loved to travel and drag Ray with her. They moved to Pembine, WI after retirement and later moved to Conover, WI.
Ray and Joan leave behind three sons: Lyle and Mary Janssen, Marty and Cheryl Janssen, and Scott and friend Gary Janssen; grandchildren and great grandchildren: Greg and Amber Binsfeld (Kaylee & Camden), Doug and Janelle Binsfeld (Lillian), Tim Janssen and girlfriend Jill, Lynn Janssen and fiance Andy, Peggy and Harley Coolman (Jalin & Harlee Sue), Jesse and Becky Janssen, Jamie Janssen and fianc Pat, Jeromy Janssen (Laylah, Lillie, & Jordann), Heather and Aaron Trempe (David, & Elijah), Stacee Janssen, and Darrell and LuAnn Boulanger, and his siblings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter Cindy Boulanger, his siblings, and a great grandson Nathan Binsfeld.
Family and friends may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday, March 12 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, Ashwaubenon (corner of Oneida and Cormier) with Fr. Bob Rhyner officiating.
