Reuel Jerome
Robertson
May 3, 1937 – April 8, 2026
Reuel Jerome Robertson, 88, died peacefully at Bellin Hospital, Green Bay, WI on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s, with his loving family by his side. Reuel was born in De Pere, Wisconsin on May 3, 1937, to the late Jerome Robertson and Elsie (Hockers) Robertson.
Reuel was born in De Pere, the eldest of seven children. In 1950 his family moved to a farm in rural West De Pere. He attended St. Boniface Grade School and St. Norbert’s High School.
Reuel was drafted during the Korean War and served for 1 ½ years before being honorably discharged. He relished his time constructing and wiring exhibits for the military in Washington DC. On June 30, 1962, he married Faye Vandehei.
Reuel was proudly engaged in farming and electrical work with his father preceding and following his time in the service. He loved farming and with his father built the family farm from a small horse farm to a 700-acre dairy farm. Following his father’s death, Reuel farmed with his two brothers. He was involved with the National Farmers Organization (NFO), the Knights of Columbus, and various parish boards. He was also the one to call if anyone needed help with equipment repair, electrical work, woodworking, plumbing or any fix-it job needing to be accomplished. He was truly a man of all trades as well as someone who never said no, making him an extremely loved and popular man.
Following the sale of the farm, he became the fix-it man for his children and extended family. He made furniture, rewired houses, and made any craft his family saw and said, “dad can make that.” He had many memorable trips driving coach part time for Lamers. Reuel and Faye enjoyed traveling the world during their long, happily married life. He also loved camping, playing cards, golfing, woodworking, gardening, watching the Brewers and Packers, spending time with family, and eating chocolate sundaes. Reuel was known by all to be a gentle, kind, loving man with twinkling eyes, a shy smile, and willing hands.
Reuel is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Faye; their children, Carrie (Richard) Hauser, Christine (Jeff) Van Pietersom, and Jon (Sarah) Robertson; seven grandchildren, Madeline and Adam Hauser, William (Madisen), Henry and George Van Pietersom, and Jack and David Robertson; siblings Roma Gettleman, Rhea (Wayne) Vandehei, Roberta Jadin, Randall (Jean) Robertson and Regis (Cheryl) Robertson; and sisters-in-law Rosemary (Ted) Prosser, Alyce Berken, and Anita Perock. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruth Ann Vannieuwenhoven, father- and mother-in-law Frank and Josephine Vandehei, as well as several brothers- and sisters-in-law.
Family and friends may gather at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service to follow on Monday, April 13, 2026. Visitation will also be held from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM on Tuesday, April 14th at St. Joseph Church, 145 Saint Joseph Drive, Hobart, WI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Joseph Church at 11:00 AM.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the amazing staff at Bellin Hospital and Unity Hospice who made Dad’s stay comfortable.
