Richard A. Ambrose, 84, of Howard, passed away Saturday December 24, 2016 at home. The son of the late John and Vivian (LaValley) Ambrose was born in Worchester, Massachusetts on March 1, 1932. Dick was a graduate of University of Massachusetts and was veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Following his years in the service, he worked for Pratt- Whitney Aircraft company. He later moved to Wisconsin and became active in the paper manufacturing industry, and was an engineer at American Can, James River and Georgia-Pacific. He was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church for many years, until his health began to fail. He and Karen enjoyed spending time with their dogs and horses.
Survivors include Karen Ambrose, one sister, Vivian Bullard, and nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Dr. John Ambrose and one nephew, Peter Ambrose.
Family and friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere from 10:00 to 11:00 Friday December 30, 2016. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Matt, and Kathleen Kelly officiating. Burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
