Richard “Rick” Rotzenberg, 78, Greenleaf, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
Rick was born on September 22, 1947, to the late Tom and Alice (Hoskens) Rotzenberg. He graduated from Wrightstown High School and a year later began serving in the US Army. Soon after he was deployed to Vietnam where he served for one year. After serving in the Army for three years, he returned home, to continue working as a machinist. After two years of courtship, Rick married Judy Pagel on November 4,1972. Together they were blessed with three children, Chris, Laurie and Jason.
Rick was an active member of the Wrightstown Urban Klister American Legion Post 436 where he served as Post Commander for one year. He was also heavily involved at St Claire’s Parish, St Patrick Church in Askeaton. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, camping, woodworking and hours fixing cars and tractors. Later in life he took to the kitchen, baking the most delicious cookies on Rotzenberg Rd.
Rick is survived by his wife of 53 years Judy, his children Chris, Laurie (Brian) Halbach and Jason (Kate), grandchildren Megan, Emmie, Eddie, and Josie, siblings Roger (Rene), Bob (Jo), Janet (Steve) Nies, Jim (Joan), Julie, John (Barb), Peter, and Peggy Fritsch, sisters-in-law Diane Delvaux and Pat Pagel. Rick is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law Harvey & Viola Pagel, brother Karl, brothers-in-law Mike Fritsch, Ken Delvaux & Rich Pagel.
Friends may call at St. Clare Catholic Church, Askeaton site, 7815 St. Pats Church Rd., Greenleaf (Askeaton), on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 9:00AM – 11:15AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30AM with Fr. Santy Turiano officiating, and Deacon Ken Kabat assisting. Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere is assisting the family.
Special thanks to the ICU staff at Bellin Hospital for their loving care of Rick.
