Richard J. Wilquet 63, of Appleton passed away on Wednesday April 7, 2010 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born November 21, 1946 in Green Bay to the late Richard and Mildred (Walsh) Wilquet. Dick attended Green Bay East High School; he then joined the U.S. Army and served his country in Vietnam. He had worked at Green Bay Packaging were he retired from in 1989 due to poor health. He loved to travel and was an avid woodworker.
He is survived by his children; Steven (Jennifer) Wilquet, Jennifer (Jim) Semerad, and his six grandchildren; Josh, Sierra, Katie, Bryan, Kelynn, and Andrew. Dick is further survived by his stepfather; Melvin Van Wychen, his siblings; Ron (Diane) Wilquet, Mike (Karen) Wilquet, Peg (Dave) Hopp, as well as his significant other Evelyn Hackl. His step brothers and sisters also survive; Marv (Kathy) Van Wychen, Mugs (Mike) Maes, Ken (Lynn) Van Wychen, Norm (Micki) Van Wychen, and his stepsister in law Connie Van Wychen. Dick's aunt Margaret Delmont as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins and friends survive.
His parents; Richard Wilquet, and Mildred Van Wychen, as well as his stepbrother Terry Van Wychen preceded Dick in death.
Friends may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street in De Pere after 3pm Sunday April 11th until time of service at 6:30pm. Burial will take place in Holy Angels Catholic Cemetery in Darboy at 10:30am Monday April 12th. Legion Post 60 of the American Legion of Kimberly will present full military rites at the cemetery.
