Rita E. Ansems, 81, of Neenah, WI, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Wyndemere Assisted Living in Green Bay on Wednesday, March 24th, 2021.
Rita was born in Tilburg, the Netherlands, on November 17, 1939 to the late Elizabeth and Anton Horsten.
She was married on April 8, 1964 and immigrated from the Netherlands to the United States in 1965 and settled in Neenah, WI. Her life was spent as a loving homemaker, raising her three sons, and volunteering for various activities, including coaching many of her sons' soccer teams. She cherished spending time with her family and loved animals of all kinds with many beloved family pets over the years. She kept her Holland traditions alive and cooked many delicious Dutch dishes for her family. She was affectionately known as "Oma" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren and always had tasty treats to share. She was a loving Mom with a fantastic way to liven up a room with her spunk.
She is survived by her three sons, Peter (Debbie), Rob (Tracy) and Greg (Monica), as well as 9 grandchildren: Brandon (Shelby), Morgan, Madalyn, Erich, Jenna, Audrey, Caroline, Jack and Luke; two great grandchildren, Lilly and Walker; a sister-in-law Joke, the Netherlands, and a niece Delia (Troels, Freya), Denmark.
Rita is preceded in death by her parents Elizabeth and Anton, as well as her little brother Tony.
A private service will be held with the immediate family. Entombment will be at Blessed Mother's Garden in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
A special thank you to the entire staff at Wyndemere Assisted Living. Your care and love shown to Rita while she was under your watch was so appreciated and treasured, by her, as well as her family.
