Obituary

Rita J. McMonagle, 90 De Pere passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon August 20, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born in Green Bay on February 13, 1934 to the late Edward and Myrtle (Wolfgram) Dumas.

Rita graduated from West De Pere High School, where she was crowned queen of her junior prom in May of 1951. On August 29, 1952, she married the love of her life Russel McMonagle at St. Joseph Church in Green Bay. She devoted her life to raising her 6 children.

She was an avid golfer, and even had a Hole in 1 at their favorite course McCauslin Brook, in Lakewood, where they were members for many years. She enjoyed snowmobiling with family and friends at their cottage near Crivitz and loved her flower gardens. One of her favorite past times was feeding the deer up north. Whenever family stopped by, you could always count on a bowl of her famous chili, and or potato salad.

Survivors include her children, Deb (Paul) Manders of Green Valley and their 4 children, Chris (Andrea) Manders, Holly (Mike) Mathies, Eric (Abby) Manders, Mark Manders; Sue (Greg) Crabb of Luxemburg and their 2 children, Michelle (Matt) Henrikson, Melissa (Zach) Scott; Jim's 2 children Amanda (Aaron) VanderLogt, and Heather (KeAndre) Hayward; Jodie Martens of Sobieski and her 2 children, Nick (Silvie) Halstead, and Jessica (Dan) Dye; Greg (Donna) McMonagle of Green Bay and their 2 children, Taylor and Noah; Shawn (Sean) Hanaway of Greenleaf and their 2 children, Logan and Olivia, 18 great grandchildren, 4 sisters, Shirley (Roger) Blom, Bev (Bob) Berken, Pat (Cy) Callaway, Judy (Jim) Gerbers and 2 brothers, Gary (Yolanda) Dumas and Dick (Marion) Dumas. She is further survived by numerous members of her extended family.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband Russel, one son Jim and several sisters and brothers-in-law.

Friends and Family may visit at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 24, 2024. A prayer service will immediately follow the visitation at 11:00 AM.

The McMonagle family would like to thank the staff at Bellin Hospital for their compassion and care, and the many caregivers at Allouez Parkside Village.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Diabetes Research.
