Robert J. "Bob" Barrette, 85, De Pere, went to his Eternal Reward on Monday morning, March 20, 2017 after a short illness. He was born October 3, 1931 to the late Gilbert and Clara Barrette. On September 9, 1953 he married Marge Ferry in Sugarbush, and they left the next day to Charlestown, SC, where Bob served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Green Bay Correctional Institution after many years of service. Bob enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren, no matter the occasion. He is survived by his sons; Jim (Diane) Barrette, Jerry (Nancy) Barrette, four grandchildren; Ross (Mary), Christopher, Alyssa (fiancé Ken Carlson), and Ryan. He is further survived by his sister in law Ruth Barrette, and brother in law Roland (Shirley) Ferry. Bob was preceded in death by his wife Marge in 2014, his brother Gilbert, his in-laws Harvey (Clara) Ferry, and brother in law Bob (Charlotte) Ferry. Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Ave. and Suburban Dr. De Pere after 9:00AM Thursday March 23, 2017, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM with Fr. Benny Jacob O.Praem. officiating. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established. Special thanks to St. Vincent 9th floor Oncology and Unity Hospice. The family would also like to thank Dan & Joan, Steve & Ginny and all those who showed support for Bob and the family during this time. It was Bob's wish to be at home, and with the assistance of his son Jerry, Bob was able to fulfill his wishes.
