Robert "Bob" Barron, 81, De Pere passed away peacefully on Sunday morning August 30, 2015 at Angel's Touch CBRF. He was born March 18, 1934 to the late Andrew and Margaret DeWitt Barron. Bob served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. On July 4, 1956 he was united in marriage to Doris DeGroot at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute.
Bob was a standout athlete at St. Norbert College, having played in a college All-Star game in Arizona. He was then drafted by the Chicago Bears, but turned that down to stay home and help raise his family. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, golfing, West De Pere or St. Norbert Football, or just a real good game of cards. Bob spent his entire career at West De Pere. He coached track, as well as Football. Bob also taught History before becoming Assistant Principal, which he retired from in 1995.
He is survived by his wife Doris, his children; Mark (Hope) Barron, Michael G. Barron, Bobbie (Larry) Trucco, Jennifer Barron, Ann (Tony) Crone, as well as his precious twelve grandchildren. Bob is further survived by his sister; Rosemary (Butch) Mianecki, and Doris's family; Joseph DeGroot, Roger (Mary) DeGroot, Deacon Vincent DeGroot, Donald (Laurie) DeGroot, Gerald (Pauline) DeGroot, Timothy (Cherrie) DeGroot.
Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street De Pere from 4:00 6:00pm Wednesday September 2, 2015. Visitation will continue after 9:00am on Thursday at St. Norbert College Parish at Old St. Joseph Catholic Church, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am with Fr.
