Robert "Bob" Allen Becker, 80, of De Pere, passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 13th 2021. Bob was born May 8, 1941 in Milwaukee Wisconsin, the son of the late Woodrow and Hildegarde (Seeberg) Becker.
He was raised in Milwaukee and Sheboygan with strong family ties. He attended High School in Sheboygan, where he met the love of his life. He married Judy Schneider on June 16, 1962 in Sheboygan Wisconsin. They started their journey by moving to Texas and purchasing a farm to be near his parents. They then moved back to Sheboygan where he attended the PGA School of Business and became a golf pro in 1967. He was the PGA golf pro at Town and Country Golf Club, in Sheboygan, until 1970 when Bob and Judy purchased the Pine Acres Golf Course in Abrams, Wisconsin. There they raised their two children Valorie and Todd. As a family they enjoyed wintering in Tarpon Springs Florida. In 1979 Bob and Judy sold Pine Acres and moved to Ashwaubenon for 5 years, they then decided to move to Florida where they owned and operated a small mobile home park. Two and a half years later they moved back to Wisconsin where Bob and Todd began building duplexes and custom homes. During that time Bob was looking for land to build a golf course. Bob's true passion was the golf business, and he did a fantastic job designing and building Highland Ridge with the full support of Judy and help of Todd. Judy and Valorie together ran the club house until her passing. It is a true family business that we all love thanks to Bob.
Bob is survived by one sister, Barbara Becker-Agte, Columbus, New Mexico; his daughter Valorie, (Ryan), son, Todd, (Crystal); grandchildren, Emily and Jake and Lorelei; special friend, Susan Gibson. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Judy.
The celebration of life will be held at Highland Ridge Golf Club, 3640 Sand Acres Drive, on Saturday July 24th, 2021 from 1:00pm to 6:00pm.
A special thank you is owed to the staff at Bellin Hospital, De Pere Fire Station #2 and Unity Hospice. In lieu of flowers and plants, a memorial fund has been established in Bob's name.
