Robert Gordon Frank passed away suddenly but peacefully early Saturday morning, February 18, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay, WI.
Bob was born April 3, 1936 in Kaukauna. He was the son of Gordon and Mary (VanDyke). He is survived by his wife Muriel (Van Den Elsen) of 58 years in marriage, siblings Lavern Wirth, Shirley Dennis, Glen Frank, and his ten children; Peter (Amy Nickel), Julia (John Lee), Mary, Timothy (Lana Olsen), Donna (James Schmitz), Robert Jr (Debbie Dawes), Barbara (Darren Johnson), Jeffery (Katrina Zich), Molly and Michelle Smalls. He was grandpa to 27 wonderful and beautiful grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Clayton Frank and sister Jean Bowers.
As a child, Bob attended Holy Cross School where he excelled at sports and had a regular spot in the local paper to highlight his accomplishments. Sports continued to be a passion throughout his life. He loved the Catholic Church and his greatest accomplishment was instilling that strong faith in his ten children.
Bob liked the simple things in life, and enjoyed spending time with his large but very close family. He prided himself on having children that were open, accepting and charitable. He taught his children that everyone is the same in God's eyes and that everyone should be treated equally. He was devoted to his wife and took care of her every need. She truly considered him her best friend. Among many fond memories, Bod will be remembered for his light-hearted sense of humor and his strong moral convictions.
The funeral mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Parish, 220 S. Michigan St. De Pere on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass. RYAN FUNERAL HOME, De Pere is assisting the family.
