Obituary

Robert “Bob/RG” George Hendricks, the patriarch of our family, born January 8, 1935, in West De Pere passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026. It is no coincidence that RG passed on this day, Labor Day, as he was the epitome of hard work his entire life.

Bob’s incredible smile was one of his many endearing qualities. He was always positive, full of life and joy, and had a playful humor. All who met him appreciated his welcoming smile, warm hand, and wisdom. He made a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Bob graduated in 1953 from Nicolet High School in West De Pere. He served in the United States Marine Corps from January 1954 to January 1956. He served one year in Korea in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). He spoke often of his time serving and was a very proud Marine. Bob worked at Fort Howard Paper Mill for 15 years, before starting his own business RG Hendricks Concrete Construction Company on June 1, 1972. In 1998, the business became RG Hendricks and Sons Concrete Construction Company when he retired, and his sons began running the company. In 2021, his legacy continued under a new name RG Hendricks Concrete Construction. His pride and joy turned “50” in 2022. Bob was an inventor, always thinking about how to make things easier. He received a patent on March 8, 1988, for his Quick Teeth Bucket Attachment. After receiving his patent, he started a second business, H & H Sales, to manufacture the attachment and to distribute it nationwide.

Bob and his sweetheart, Donna were married on March 2, 1957, at St. Philip Catholic Church in Green Bay. Family meant the world to Bob. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow into outstanding adults and great-grandchildren soar in growth and knowledge. Often saying, “I don’t have to look very far to see how blessed I am.”

Bob’s generosity was second to none. He didn’t shy away from giving up his time and self. He was an active member of the Ashwaubenon Optimist Club and Brown County Home Builders Association. He was always there to lend an ear or hand whenever it was needed. He believed that kindness is the most important attribute.

Bob was everything sports. He loved Wisconsin teams: Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and Badgers. He was a Packer ticket holder since 1960 and attended the Ice Bowl in 1967. He watched and played golf and was a pitcher on an over 50 softball team for many years.

Over the years, Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing cards, trips with friends, and bird watching. He loved spending time at their cottage on the Bay for 30 years. He enjoyed going to Marco Island, Florida with mom during the winter months for 35+ years. Bob enjoyed making and sharing his world class booyah and everyone who had the opportunity to eat it loved it.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna of 69 years; his four children, Vicki (Dan) De Bauche, Sheri (Brian) Cyr, Mitch (Jill), and Scott (Kathy); his 10 grandchildren, Heather (Sean), Jennifer (Marcus), Jacob (Lindsay), Justin, Lindsey (Chuck), Breanne, Joshua (Roxy), Jacyln (Brock), Alex (Jake), Adam (Allison); his 12 great-grandchildren, Bennett, Allie, Brooklyn, Chase, Oliver, Hudson, Lucas, Ella, Calla, Austin, Shea, and Henry. He is further survived and loved by many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Henry and Louise, and his father and mother-in-law, Fred and Libby Dix. His brothers Eddie and Jim (Dawn); sisters Rose (Bernie) Schwartz and Jane (Don) Hock; sister and brother-in-law Ronnie (Betty) Counard and Richard (Barb) Dix; brother-in-law Don Kanaugh and sister-in-law Gayle Hendricks; and nephew Brian Counard.

It is with utmost gratitude that we thank those who have helped us so that our patriarch was able to be home for as long as he was able. You are a blessing. Home Instead helped to begin Dad’s final journey. You are amazing, especially you, Denise, who guided us, and of course Jeanne, who became a caregiver to Dad and a friend to our parents. Unity Hospice you supported us when we were lost. Your guidance was key to Dad being with us for longer than we expected. Rabihah, Amy, Karen, Kelly, you are the ultimate team. Thank you for caring for Dad as well as us. We are so grateful to the staff at the Jack and Engrid Meng Hospice Residence. Your care and compassion are unmatched. Dad’s final days with you were peaceful.

Anyone can be a Father, but it takes someone special to be a Daddy. You were a wonderful Daddy. Thank you for giving us the foundation needed to be parents and grandparents. We know that you will continue guiding us from Heaven. We love you, Daddy, and will miss you always.
