Robert "Bob" Gibson, 89, went to be reunited with his wife, Alvina on Sunday January 20, 2013. He was born May 29, 1923 to Elwood and Rose (Garsow) Gibson. Bob served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II, and was a proud member of the American Legion. On February 21, 1950, he married the former Alvina Garot. Bob worked many years as an electrician and maintenance for St. Norbert College and later St. Norbert Abbey. They were avid travelers and enjoyed going to Mexico for many years. Mr. Gibson loved going to the boat races where he watched his grandson, Justin, race. He also looked forward to his daily "meetings" with the guys and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Bob will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include his four children: Linda (Raul) Linares and their children, Steve Kust, Jenny (Andy) Adams, Matt (Bonnie) Kust, Becky (Tony) Morgan; Bobby (Debbie) Kust and their children, Shannon (Nate) Siem, Kristy Gibson, and Justin (Britni) Gibson; Jean Williams, and her children Andy and Amber Williams; Mike Gibson. He is further survived by eleven great-grandchildren and a special niece, Barb Zuehl and her family. Three sisters-in-law, Romel Tripp, Ellen (Melvin) Sonnentag, Ruth Zirbel, two brothers-in-law, Fred (Connie) Garot, Bill (Ceil) Miron, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alvina, parents, one brother, George (Lucille??) Gibson and brother-in-law, Joe Miron?????
Family and friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME. 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday January 24, 2013. Parish Prayer Service will end the evening at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at St. Norbert College Parish at Old St. Joseph Church, De Pere from 9:00 to 10:30 am Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated at 10:30 am Friday at the church with Father John Tourangeau, O. Praem., and Fr. James Baraniak, O. Praem., officiating.
