Military Rites to follow mass.
Robert V. Lu Maye Jr., 88, of Green Bay, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
He was born on February 18, 1938, to the late Robert V. Lu Maye Sr. and Delores (DeChamps) Lu Maye.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States National Guard from 1957 to 1964.
On August 8, 1959, he married the love of his life, Louise Daoust, beginning a devoted marriage that spanned nearly 67 years.
Bob spent his entire working career as a truck driver for Brauman Paper and Klemm Tank Lines. In his free time, he enjoyed working alongside his daughter at Dos Chiles Catering, volunteering to serve lunches at Holy Family School, and ushering at St. Agnes Catholic Church. He loved woodworking, making heirloom toys and countless other treasured items, and there wasn't anything he couldn't fix. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, and camping with his family, and never seemed to pass a McDonald's without stopping for a cup of coffee.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Louise; his children, Stephen (Susanne) Lu Maye and Lisa (Saúl) Escalante-Ortiz; his cherished grandchildren, Olivia and Antonio Escalante-Ortiz, Ryan, Adam, Alex, and Leila Lu Maye; his brother, Kenny (Karen) Lu Maye; his sisters, Muriel Milewski and Patsy (Jack) Boerschinger; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Susie (Tom) Ebert, Ralph (Judy) Daoust, Phillip (Carrie) Daoust, and Mark (Vernita) Daoust; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his infant son, Daniel; his sister, Carol Harris; his brothers-in-law, Roger Milewski and Jim Daoust; and his sister-in-law, Shirley Daoust.
Family and friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere. Visitation will continue Monday, July 6, 2026, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth Street, Green Bay, from 11:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m., with Fr.
