Obituary

Robert (Bob) P. Manders, age 73, and longtime resident of De Pere, passed away on Wednesday October 26, 2022, with family by his side after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Bob was born July 9, 1949, to the late Eugene and Mary (Garsow) Manders. He was raised on a farm in De Pere alongside 12 brothers and sisters.

He attended West De Pere High School. On August 23, 1969, Bob married his high school sweetheart, Sandra P. Woller, at Nativity Parish in Ashwaubenon. This past August they celebrated 53 years of marriage.

Bob was employed for 53 years at Valley Unit Step. He loved his job and hardly missed a day.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Sandi, and their children, George (Michelle) Manders of Ashwaubenon, Shawn Manders-O'Brien of De Pere, and Matt (Erin) Manders of De Pere; 5 grandchildren, Cody (Gabby), Madison (Josh), Mabel, Porter and Jax.

He is further survived by his siblings and their spouses: Eugene (Barb) Manders, Frank (Sharon) Manders, John (Sharon) Manders, James (Pam) Manders, Daniel (Jean) Manders, Larry Manders, Mary Dollar, Jane (Mick) Ament, Nancy (Lyle) Popour, Dorothy (Randy) Schmude, Sherry (Joe) Gerrits, brothers and sisters-in-law Sharon Woller, Max Jr. (Evelyn) Woller, Gail Cornelius, Mary Schmidt, Barb Thibeault and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his sister Ruth Hoffman, sister-in-law Sally Lurquin and her special friend Bill Handler, brothers-in-law Dave Woller, Kevin Cornelius, Wayne Woller, Tom Schmidt, Mike Poquette and John Dollar.

Bob enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing cards with family and friends, telling jokes, playing softball, bowling, but most of all he loved spending time up north at his cabin in Wausaukee, WI. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed elk hunting in Colorado and Wyoming as well as fishing in Minnesota and Canada. Bob was known for his beef jerky of all kinds, bear, elk, venison, hot and spicy it was all good and he shared it with everyone. However, nothing compared to his booyah, it was perfection and enjoyed at many family gatherings.
