Robert "Bob" Marquis, 69, De Pere, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 30, 2012 surrounded by his family. Bob was born on June 1, 1943 in De Pere, to the late John and Florence "Dolly" (Dionne) Marquis. Bob graduated from West De Pere High School in 1962. On October 3, 1964 he married Rose Willems at St. Boniface Church. Bob worked as a fire fighter for 27 and half years for the City of De Pere. He spent his early years racing on area dirt tracks. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, hauling scrap and iron, and spending time with family and friends.
Bob is survived by his wife Rose and his five children, Ricky Marquis, Randy (Cathy) Marquis, Lynn Marquis, Daniel Marquis, Amy Wagner, and his 8 grandchildren; Melanie (Tyler) Frederickson, Logan, Brady, Madison, Matt, Paige, Dylan, and Jadin. Four sisters, Barbara Rottier, Mary (Greg) Bossell, Jane (Steve) Vanderplas, and Paulette (Steve) Marin. He is also survived by 3 sisters in law, 6 brothers in law, and nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, one brother James Marquis, and his brother in law Donald Rottier.
Friends and family may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street in De Pere from 3 9pm on Tuesday December 4, 2012. A prayer service led by Deacon Mike VanderBloomen will take place at 6pm. Burial will take place Wednesday morning in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Please go to www.ryanfh.com to send online condolences to the family. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established.
