Robert D. Neveling, 94, joined his heavenly Father and his beloved wife of 44 years in eternal glory on Thursday, December 15, 2011. He was born in Philadelphia, PA to Rose and Daniel Neveling on November 5, 1917.
He was an extraordinarily generous and kind husband, father and grandfather. He sponsored two week family reunions on the East Coast beaches creating memories of oysters on the half shell, crab hunting on the beach and "500" Rummy games.
He partnered 50 years with his brother in the textile business. Some of his more notable accomplishments were weaving the early space crafts' nose cone protective coverings, replicating the dining room chair fabric for George Washington's Mt. Vernon dining room, and setting up an antique loom for the Smithsonian Institute. He played golf until he was 88 years old with the "Over the Hill Gang" in Walden Lake, FL.
He is survived by his daughter Pam Denis (Dave), his son, Wayne Neveling (Ellie), and 8 grandchildren: Becky Wilson, Beth Wilson-Van Thiel (Jason), Kat Wilson, Scott Wilson, Keith Young, Kurt Young, Lauren Rouleau (Keith) and Matt Neveling, and his sister-in-law Kathy Neveling, and his nieces Gwen Harrison, Lynne Woodside, and Jean Neveling and their families.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Joseph Neveling, his beloved wife, Betty, and his daughter, Shelley Nesbitt.
Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere, WI from 9-11am, Saturday, December 17, 2011. Family reflections will be shared at 11am, Saturday at the funeral home.
