Robert "Bob" George Thiem, 85, of Ledgeview, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 16, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was born February 22, 1929 in Green Bay, a son of the late Walter and Esther (Peterson) Thiem. On June 27, 1953 Bob married the former Mardelle Clarksen. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served from 1951 to 1953. He spent his working career as a carpenter and retired from Bellin Hospital in 1991. Bob loved building to scale model farm implements, his Cub Cadets, being up north hunting and fishing with his sons, and helping people. Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mardelle; his four children: James (Bernadette) Thiem, Michael (Sayward) Thiem, Debra (Tim) Lee, and Patrice La Chapelle; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; his sister Marjorie (Jerry) Smith; and his brother Howard's wife Janet Thiem. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Adalyne (John) Hotle; and two brothers Howard Thiem and Edward Thiem. Family and friends may visit from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 305 N. Tenth St, De Pere. Funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Rev.
