Robert N. Thompson, 70, De Pere, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at his home. He was born June 18, 1944 in Sheboygan, WI, a son of the late Neils and Theresa (Kasten)Thompson. On July 18, 1964 he married the former Joni (Joan) Brautigan. She preceded him in death on December 26, 2009
Bob proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a welder fabricator for over 40 years, was a great handyman and a talented woodworker. He was a race car enthusiast and loved to watch NASCAR or any race when possible.
Bob is survived by his two sons: Shawn (Katee) Thompson (Natalee and Lilly) and Scott (Michelle) Thompson (Matthew and Mary); brother Russ (Karen) Thompson; sister-in-law Cindy Thompson; aunt Doris Petersen; his dog Bailey; and his brother and sisters-in-law Pat (Mary Kay) Brautigan, Diane (Wayne) Hingle, Deb (Mike) McMorrow, and Wendy Brautigan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Neils and Theresa; his wife Joni Thompson; brother Rick Thompson; mother and father-in-law Mary and George Brautigan; and brother-in-law Mike Brautigan.
Family and friends may visit from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 305 N. Tenth St, De Pere. Funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Deacon Mike Vander Bloomen officiating. Full Military honors will follow the service. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
