Obituary

Robert "Bob" Tilley, 87, of De Pere passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, September 24, 2009, after his courageous battle with cancer. The son of the late Nate and Cora (Stordock) Tilley was born March 8, 1922 in Beloit WI. He attended Rutgers University. Bob served his country in World War II as a proud pilot and instructor in the US Air Force, receiving many medals for his service. After the war, Bob returned home and became a banker. In 1949 Bob married Mary Lou Quinn and she preceded him in death in 1974. He married Lelo "Leigh" Schiffer on May 8, 1978 in Beloit. Bob was a member of De Pere VFW Post 2113. Bob's family includes his wife, Leigh, one daughter, Connie Tilley, De Pere, one son Gary (Olene) Tilley, Kansas City, KS, three grandchildren, Travis, Tanya, and Danielle, and one great-grandson, Christoph Tilley. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim, "Bud" and one sister Harriet Polglaze, all of Beloit. Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 North Tenth Street De Pere, WI after 9:00 am Saturday September 26, 2009.
