Robert "Littleman" Webster, Sr., 63, of Oneida, passed away at home early Thursday morning, January 26, 2012, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He had recently received his Indian name of Lo?tuhkote, meaning he is a Standing Flame. Born on March 28, 1948 in Wisconsin Dells, he was the son of the late Louis and Mary (Stevens) Webster. He married the former Betty Mays on November 1, 1969 in Chicago.
Littleman worked for Tillman Landscaping for thirty seven years prior to retirement in 2009. He served his country in the U. S. Marine Corp as a Corporal. He served in the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division, Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. He then served in the 3rd Battalion 6th Marines. Littleman received many awards and medals during his career in the service, including the Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Campaign, Vietnam Service- three gold stars, the National Defense Award Marine Corp Good Conduct, Presidential Unit Citation, Rifleman sharp shooter- M-16, M-14 and the Republic Vietnam Gallentry Ribbon. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veteran, the Oneida VFW, the Wisconsin Indian Veteran Association - Oneida Chapter.
His family includes his wife of 42 years, Betty "Ada" Webster, one son, Robert "Horse" Webster, Jr. and daughter, Lynn "HeeHaw" Webster, his siblings, Marie "Lil gal", Darrold "Bossy" (Veronica), Ronald "Slab", Daniel "Diggy", Judy (Arlon) Bozeman, Thomas (Gail), Doreen "Dora", and Luke "Spooky Luke"; grandchildren, Xavior, Guillermo, Ever, also survived by his best friend, Ted Christjohn, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces, many cousins, his goddaughter, Wynoka Skenandore and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Luke and Elizabeth Stevens, and Elsie and Edward Webster, his sisters Betty, Verna, Joyce (Pies), Lois, a brother, Donald (Lil Jel) and aunts and uncles.
Family and friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday January 29, 2012. Oneida Hymn Singing will sing at 6:30 pm with an Oneida Veterans Service at 7:00 pm and prayer service at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue after 9:00 am Monday at the Oneida United Methodist church, Freedom Road, De Pere until time of service. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am Monday at the church with Rev. Earl L. Smith, officiating. Burial to follow in Church Cemetery with Full Military Rites.
