Robert "Bob" Wenner, 87, of Silver Cliff, passed away peacefully in Slinger at the home of his son, Paul (Alane) Wenner on Tuesday January 27, 2015. The son of Clarence and Hannah (Rasmussen) Wenner was born May 12, 1927 in Denmark.
Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired as Chief Petty Officer. He served in WW II and the Korean War. Upon his retirement, he came back to Green Bay where he and his brother ran Bear Service Garage on Broadway Street. He moved up north following the sale of the garage. He loved the outdoors, spending his time fishing, hunting, and trapping. He loved playing cards and had a great sense of humor. He knew there are no "owesies" in Heaven.
Survivors include his four children, Mary Berndt, Julie (John) Kohl, Peter (Susan) Wenner, Paul (Alane) Wenner, thirteen grandchildren, one sister, Rosie (Duke) Widi, one brother, Donald (Joanne) Wenner, the mother of his children, Barbara Wenner, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandson, PJ Wenner, his parents, Clarence and Hannah, two sisters, Sandra and Shirley Rusch, and his special friend, Elizabeth (Ernie) Jones.
Family and friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm on Saturday January 31, 2015.
