Roberta "Dot" Young (Yenunya'kwa:tha) aged 80 years, she lived in Oneida, Wisconsin. Roberta was born on December 28, 1942, Keshena Wisconsin to Irene Pearce Webster and Washington Eli Webster. She was raised in Neopit, Wisconsin with her ten siblings. In her early years she used to walk in her sleep which is how she received her nickname Dot, as she wandered the house in the night. In her early adult years, she moved off the Menominee Indian Rez to the big city of Chicago, Illinois where she resided until 1998. She met the love of her life, Brodie Young around 1970, they were twice married, for the second time in 1981 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church. Roberta had seven children, Teresa Coon, Irene (Jose) Madrigal, Lois (Barry) Velaszquez, Brodie Young Jr., Jacquelyn (The late James) Davis, Raven (Frank) Villa. She had 25 Grandchildren and 35 Great-grandchildren. She was a jack of all trades and worked in many different areas, including Truman College and mentored many Amer-Indian peoples. Most importantly she sought to make a positive impact on her immediate community and strived for the advancement of and sought justice for Native American Indian people, and All persons of color. Roberta loved caring for children, she enjoyed cooking, laundry, dancing, playing softball, car rides, and trips to the casino. She found great comfort in helping the sick, and attending bedside vigils with her Bestie and sister Lois (Donna) Franklin. Best of all she loved to bring people together, especially for important life celebrations. She was preceded by her parents Irene and Washington Webster, her brothers Clarence Webster, Eli Webster, Eugene Webster, Lou Webster, and Louis Webster and her sisters Bertha Webster, Eleanor Barnes, and Regina Webster. Her son by marriage Steven Gaines, and granddaughter Sophia Rose Villa.
Visitation will begin Sunday, February 19, 2023, starting at 10AM at Dot's daughters home 814 Howard Street, Green Bay, 54303, a Rosary service will be held on Sunday at 6PM. Visitation will continue through Monday, February 20th at the house. A service to begin at 5PM. On Tuesday, February 21, 2023, visitation will continue at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Oneida (145 St. Joseph Dr. Oneida, WI) at 10:00AM until 11:00AM. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11am.
