Rodney Lee Brick, 77, of Memphis, TN passed away April 16, 2025 peacefully with his son, Steve, and daughter-in-law, Erin at his side. He was born November 23, 1947 in Green Bay, WI, to the late James H. Brick and Lucille M. Brick (Giese). He spent his childhood years in Askeaton, WI.
Rod graduated from Wrightstown High School (Class of '66), Wrightstown, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lucille Brick; son, Tim Brick; sisters, Suzette Brick and Sandy Vandevoort; brothers, Wayne and Gregg Brick; brothers-in-law, Leroy Vandevoort, Tom Anderson and Dave Haese.
Rod is survived by his son, Steven (Erin) Brick; daughter-in-law, Dana Brick; grandchildren, William Brick, Nathan Brick, Sylvia Fitzgerald, Justine Fix and Chelsee Howell; brothers and sisters, Gary (Linda) Brick, Marcia Anderson, Robin (Dan) Bastian, Brian Brick, Mary Kay Haese, James T Brick, Lisa Brick and Bradley (Carolyn) Brick.
Retired from the Army as a Chief Warrant Officer (CW3) in 1994 and the Federal Civil Service, member of the American Legion Post #0436 Wrightstown, WI; VFW Post #2113 De Pere, WI. Rod took great pride in serving his country. His professional career was in Logistics, Supply and Inventory Management and other sub-specialties. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in 1967-1968. Rod had many travels throughout his career, but his most memorable and enjoyable were to S. Korea, Columbia (Bogota), Peru, Panama and Ecuador. He loved South American culture and visited many times. In 2007-2008 he took a voluntary recall to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He also worked at the US Embassy in Bogota, Colombia with the Military Group of two and a half years.
Rod enjoyed traveling, talking politics, gardening and landscaping his property in Ripley, TN. Prior to living in TN, he resided in Smiley, TX for many years where he had a small ranch with horses and beef cattle. He traveled to almost all 50 States. Other travels took him to his ancestral Ireland (2 times), Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Japan and Vietnam.
Visitation will be held at St. Clare Parish - St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Askeaton, WI beginning at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Brian Wideman officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will follow Mass in the St. Patrick Cemetery.
