Rodney "Trapper" Deau, 80, of De Pere, died in a snowmobile accident on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Rodney was born on September 29, 1941, the son of the late Leonard and Helen (Kroll) Deau. Trapper was generous, caring, funny (even when he was trying to be serious) and deeply devoted to his family. Trapper had a hobby farm in West De Pere where he raised his family, cows, calves, chickens and other animals. He restored John Deere tractors, owned and drove dump trucks, plowed, planted and harvested his fields, worked on his racing sleds, worked on his son's race cars and until his retirement worked at Morning Glory Dairy. There was a lot more Trapper was into, Rodney gathered no moss. He died doing something he truly loved. He is survived by his sons, Dan (Kelly) and Rob (Jan); grandchildren, Anna (Jack), Rebecca (Justin), Maria (Tucker), Jennifer (Cris) and Lewis, great-grandchildren, Lacey, Isla, Emma, Mae, and Edwin. Trapper is futher survived by his stepchildren, Tammy Holtz and Dena Holtz; step-granddaughter, Shawnetta Williams; siblings, Warren (Lois) Deau, Barb (Mike) Lindsley, Curney (Dave) Faltynzki, Kay (Clem) Hedeen, Debbie (Scott) Zierson, Todd Deau; and many nieces and nephews. Rodney was preceded in death by his wife, Linda (Lin); infant granddaughter, Maggie; brother, Larry (Della) Deau; and his parents; and his former wife Joanne Doolittle. Family and friends may visit at, St. John Lutheran Church, 1700 Lost Dauphin Rd., De Pere, WI, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2022. A prayer service will conclude the visitation at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Cindy Warmbier-Meyer presiding.
