Roger L. Berndt, 78, Green Bay, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Roger was born November 1, 1938 in Green Bay, a son of the late Eugen and Ruth (Van Boven) Berndt. On January 20, 1989, he married Betty Mooren Bader.
Roger retired from Fort James "Georgia Pacific" after 42 years of being a machinist. He served his country in the US Army for 8 years. He enjoyed going up north, singing at local events, watching the Packers, woodworking, & anything cars & racing. Roger truly enjoyed the time he got to spend with family especially with his grandchildren.
Roger is survived by his wife Betty Berndt; daughter Christie (Jamie) Van Boxtel & their children: Ashley, Chelsea, Allison, and Hunter; daughter Candace (Rick) Uhlenbrauck & their children: Caitlyn & Hannah; son Scott (Karen) Berndt & their children: Zachary & Brock; step son Randy (Paula) Bader & their children: Jason & Jessica; step son Bob Bader & his children: Tashina & Jonathon; step son Craig Bader & his daughter Brianna; & step son David (friend Barbie) Bader & his son Joshua; seven great grandchildren; sister Susan (John) Storzer; brother-in-law John Weisner; and sister-in-law Ruth Berndt. He was preceded in death by his parents Eugen and Ruth; brother Ronald Berndt; sister Rita Wiesner; and daughter-in-law Deb Bader.
Family & friends may visit on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at RYAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 305 N. Tenth St, De Pere. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM.
