Romayne Ann (Stevens) Hayes, 95, passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, June 5, 2024. The daughter of Arthur and Freida (Vollrath) Stevens was born on July 19, 1928 in Pennsylvania.

Romayne grew up the middle of three children and told fond stories of her younger years. She graduated from West Pittston High School and met the love of her life, William Hayes, shortly thereafter. Romayne "knew it the day she met him" and knit William a pair of argyle socks "to seal the deal."

She was a faithful member of the Sycamore Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir for more than twenty years, and later First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs when she retired there.

Romayne will be remembered for her smile, quick wit, feisty spirit and love of life. She was the "Worthington Country Club Mom," mothering anyone who had lost their own.

She is survived by her children, William (Nancy) Hayes, Sharon (Jack) Ludwig and Cindy (Tim) Glass; grandchildren, Jim (Nicole) Hayes, Ryan (Sahar) Hayes, Alexandra (Charlie) Prochnow, William III (Rebecca) Hayes, Jennifer (Leo) Ludwig, Joshua (Brittany) Ludwig, Timothy III (Missey) Glass and Janelle Glass. Romayne is further survived by her great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Payton, Everett, Carson, Sidney, Scarlett, Rowan, Palmer and Layla; as well as other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William; parents, Arthur and Freida; and siblings Thomas ("Shorty") Stevens and Janet (Walt) Lyons.

Private family services will be held for Romayne in Bonita Springs. Family would like to extend thanks to the staff at Aurora BayCare Medical Center and all of Romayne's friends in Florida for their love and care over the years.
