Ronald Rae "Mac" McAbee, 86, passed away peacefully September 2, 2024. The son of Louis and Adella "Della" (Thompson) McAbee was born on January 19, 1938.
He was Born in the Town of Lawerence, Wisconsin. In his younger years he was always farming and riding along with his dad on the milk route, Mac even drove a milk route himself when he got older. He had a great love for horses and even had a small pony ring that brought him great joy when people would stop to let their children enjoy a ride.
Mac was loved by many, and made friends wherever he went, he will always be remember for his bright smile and warm helpful heart. His witty sense of humor was unbridled, unrelenting and many times over the top. He had many fond memories of growing up as one of 8 children and enjoyed sharing the stories of times with his brothers and sisters and his many friends.
He was a loving Husband of 62 years to his wife Sheryl (VanHoosen) McAbee, together they raised 5 children, and built a loving relationship beyond anything know to others, even in his unknown last days he longed to see her face, hold hands and share a kiss or two.
He enjoyed spending time with his entire family, camping in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. His grandchildren and great grandchildren where his pride and joy. He loved get togethers playing cards, sharing stories, and oh so much laughter.
Mac is survived by His wife Sheryl (Van Hoosen) McAbee, His children Scott McAbee, Jodi Schulke her husband Gary whom he loved to harass and was proud to call son, Michael McAbee, Robert McAbee, and Todd McAbee, and Joy Ruelle who he always felt and treated like one of his children as well. His Grandchildren, Jessica Reinheimer (Jared), Krystal Oleyniczak and her longtime partner Elliott Goltz, Shiela and family, James and family, Adam and family and Alexa. He had the most wonderful bond with his great grandchildren, Austin, Aleyra, Eliza, Devyn. He is also is survived by his sister Dee Dee Yanda (Dennis), sister-in-law Julie McAbee, sister-in-law Pauline McAbee, and sister-in-law Joan Van Hoosen, and many loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Henry Lewis and Sadie McAbee, parents Louis and Della Mc Abee, brothers, Norbert, Louis (Buck), Roger, and Don McAbee, Sisters Shan Symonik, and Nancy Kust, and brothers-in-law Dale and Terry Van Hoosen.
Family and friends may visit at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. A prayer service will take place at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Richard Getchel officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
