IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald "Ron" J.
Lafave
March 18, 1957 – April 30, 2024
Ronald Joseph LaFave, 67, passed away peacefully at his home in Green Bay on April 30, 2024, of cancer with family by his side. He was born in Green Bay, WI on March 18, 1957, to William G. LaFave & Shirley A. (Germain) LaFave.
Ron grew up in a loving home with his nine siblings. They moved often, and Ron went to six different high schools where he excelled in wrestling, set records in track and field, and enjoyed hunting and horseback riding. Throughout the many moves, Ron especially loved living in the mountains of Colorado. After graduating from Bonduel High School, like his father, Ron explored many different career opportunities. While working at Milprint in De Pere, Ron established himself as a leader serving as a foreman. Entrepreneur at heart, he started various companies during his life; Interim Health Care with his father, Covenant Wood Shop and Renewed Life.
While Ron was diligent about his work, he was foremost devoted to God and family. Realizing a call to ministry, God used Ron's gifts of leadership and pastoral counseling, calling him to missions in Asia. Upon returning from living in Vietnam, he and his wife opened multiple Box Drop Mattress & Furniture stores along with mentoring and coaching many others in the franchise.
In 2001, Ron married the love of his life, Amy. They partnered together in missionary work and loving on their children and grandchildren. His greatest joy came from spending quality time with his family, including outdoor activities, especially hunting with his son. Ron and Amy opened their home as a sanctuary and refuge for friends and family. His heart for others is what set him apart. He was passionate in every aspect of his life and his fighting spirit was clear to everyone that knew him.
Ron is survived by his wife Amy (Tijan), his three children and five grandchildren. Matthew (Courtney) LaFave and their children Birklee and Crew; Alycia (Joseph) Mercier, Blake and Bennett; Alyssa (Kaden) Sukopp, Ava; His nine siblings, aunts, uncles, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Shirley LaFave, and twin babies Noah and Noelle.
Family and friends may call to Spring Lake Church, 2240 Klondike Rd, Green Bay, WI 54311, times of visitation from 9:00 A.M. to 11:45 A.M. on Saturday, May 4, 2024. A celebration of life will begin at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Jimmy McDonald presiding. Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere is assisting the family.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Ryan Funeral Home. We would also like to thank the Cancer Team at Bellin Health who fought alongside him, Unity Hospice, and especially his siblings who kept him comfortable helping him stay in his home until he went into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
