Ronald Herbert
Wach
November 15, 1942 – April 19, 2026
Ronald Herbert Wach, 83, passed away April 19, 2026. He was born in Green Bay, WI on November 15, 1942, to Herbert and Esther (Behnke) Wach. Ron graduated from Preble High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He married Mary Pat Holzer, who preceded him in death on June 27, 2007.
Ron spent his early career in finance, working his way up to Chief Financial Officer of Bruce Lake Steel in Pennsylvania, where he and his wife, Mary Pat, began and raised their family. In 1981, Ron and Mary Pat followed their dream of working together when they purchased Greenfield’s, a card and gift shop in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. Their entrepreneurial spirit led them to expand the business a few years later by adding an appliance and housewares store, creating a successful and well-loved venture.
Eventually, Ron and his family returned to Green Bay to be closer to loved ones. He retired from NWTC after 17 years as a control technician in purchasing.
Ron was a man of many talents who could fix nearly anything. He cherished spending time with family and especially loved having them gathered around. His interests included boating, golfing, attending car shows, and taking road trips in his Corvette. He was an active member of several sports’ car clubs as well as the German American Club. Ron also enjoyed dancing and looked forward to Friday fish outings with family and friends.
Later in life, Ron was fortunate to find a new love and family with Del, following Mary Pat’s passing.
Ron is survived by his wife Delphine Richardson Wach; children, Jennifer (Joe) Otte, Paula Ormsbee, Gunther (Kelly) Wach, Gayle (Jim) Begotka, Becky Koltz and his stepson-in-law Will Herlache; grandchildren, Brandon and Charles Ormsbee, John Otte, Georgia Soudant, Grace and Sara Begotka, Matthew, Anna, and Isaac Herlache, Rachel and Andy Koltz; great-grandchildren, Collin and Hayden Ormsbee and Benjamin Van Beek; sister, Carol Nighorn, and many nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law Edmund Ormsbee and stepdaughter Angie Herlache.
